Questions & clear next steps

Frequently asked questions.

Answers about academy accounts, pathways, inquiries, enrollment, facilitator preparation, and partnership conversations.

01

Do I create an academy account before submitting the learner inquiry?

Yes. New learners first create one MBKLA Formation Academy account, then review the three leadership pathways and complete the New Learner Inquiry. Creating an account establishes your learner profile; it does not automatically enroll you in a course.

02

Do I need a different account for each leadership pathway?

No. Use one MBKLA Formation Academy account throughout your learning journey. Your pathway reflects your present responsibility and development needs, and you will identify the pathway you are considering in the inquiry form.

03

What happens if I forget my academy password?

Use Forgot Password on the MBKLA Formation Academy sign-in page to create a new password. MBKLA administrators cannot view, retrieve, or send you your password, so keep it in a secure password manager or another protected place.

04

Does submitting an inquiry guarantee enrollment?

No. MBKLA reviews fit, readiness, current responsibility, program availability, and the appropriate next step. Enrollment details are confirmed separately after review.

05

How do I know which pathway to choose?

Choose according to the responsibility you carry now—not title alone. Review the descriptions for Pastors & Ministry Leaders, Elders & Ministers, and Emerging & Lay Leaders. MBKLA can help confirm fit after receiving your inquiry.

06

How should a church or ministry begin a partnership conversation?

Churches and ministries may use the MBKLA Inquiry and Conversation Form and select the church or ministry partnership option. An academy learner account is not required for an organizational inquiry.

07

Is the facilitator form the same as the learner inquiry?

No. Prospective facilitators use the dedicated Facilitator Preparation Pre-Registration Form. Pre-registration is not an enrollment application and does not guarantee authorization, assignment, certification, or a paid role.

08

When will MBKLA respond?

Inquiries received Monday through Friday are personally acknowledged within one business day. The response may include guidance, clarifying questions, or an invitation to continue the conversation.

09

What information should I avoid submitting?

Do not submit confidential pastoral, legal, medical, abuse, safety, or emergency information through the website or forms. For an emergency or immediate safety concern, contact the appropriate local emergency service.

Start in the right place.

Individual learners should follow the New Learner steps. Prospective facilitators have a separate preparation and pre-registration process.
